So close but...

Well I thought things were going too well...

Having got myself all settled in last night and woke up nice and early for the first day of chemo, the day began to drag on without even a sniff of treatment.

I had my bloods taken, observations carried out every couple of hours, had breakfast and lunch to then be told sorry Mr Rye but we can't start your chemotherapy today as we have had an emergency leukaemia patient that needs treating urgently and needs this isolation bed!

Well I always new it could potentially happen if an emergency came in but didn't think I would get so close. So I had my bags packed (again) and was out of the room just as my dinner was arriving.

Thankfully the Haematology department has a suit of apartments they use for patients waiting for transplants and I have been given one of them for the next few nights until Wednesday or Thursday when it is all systems go again on Friday.

So until then my blogging will be having a little rest... So soon I hear many of you cry and will be back on the case Friday. Until then... happy shopping?

Mark xx
